Íñigo Sánchez Fuarros

20140703IMG_5517_01Iñigo Sánchez Fuarros holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Barcelona. Since 2011 he is postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Ethnomusicology at the New University of Lisbon. His community-based research focuses on music, migration and the city as well as on the anthropology of senses. He is the author of Cubaneando en Barcelona. Música, migración y experiencia urbana (CSIC, 2012) and has published in TRANS-Transcultural Music Review (he is currently its director), Western Folklore, Revista d’Etnologia de Catalunya. His contribution also includes Fiesta y ciudad: pluriculturalidad e integración (CSIC, 2008), Made in Spain. Studies in Popular Music (Routledge, 2013), andMusical Performance and the Changing City (Routledge, 2013). Sánchez-Fuarros has also taught in Popular Music Studies at the Faculty of Social & Human Sciencs, New University of Lisbon.
