Patricia Pereira

foto patriciaPereira holds a PhD in Urban Sociology from the New University of Lisbon (2013). Since 2014 she is postdoctoral researcher at CICS.NOVA, with a individual project entitlded “Port city lives: exploring the dynamics of gentrification in Lisbon”. This project aims at characterizing gentrification in Cais do Sodré by exploring five dimensions (historical, economical, political, cultural, and social), in order to discuss the broader question of urban regeneration in Lisbon, particularly in the present context of economic crisis. Pereira is also Invited Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of  Social & Human Sciences at the New University of Lisbon, and member of Editorial Board of Forum Sociológico as well as of the member of the Scientific Committee of European Sociological Association – RN37.
