Young people and alcohol marketing

An study published by the journal Addiction at the beginning of this year claims that uncontrolled alcohol marketing is specially harmful for vulnerable populations of consumers, such as adolescents, children and young people. As industry self-regulatory programs are not effective, the action by governments to control alcohol marketing with statutory measures are needed to prevent alcohol problems and protect the public health.
