Albert Acedo Sánchez holds a BA in Geomatic and Surveying Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. and worked as a surveyor for six years. He also holds a MA in Territorial Planning and Environmental Management at the University of Barcelona in 2013, where he had the opportunity of being involved in some research projects related to the digital hybridization of the public space. Then, he took the Erasmus Mundus MSc. in Geospatial Technologies with a special interest in the interaction between technology, space and citizens from a participatory point of view. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at NOVA Informatic Management School and is enrolled at the GEO-C project (http://geo-c.eu), funded by the European Commission within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, International Training Networks (ITN), European Joint Doctorates (EJD). Inside the project, Albert is dealing with the participation in the smart city context from a citizen-based approach based on four pillars; environmental psychology, sociology, geography and geoinformatics.
